Our Philosophy

Jack Thomas Associates, Park City office

“We listen carefully to the client and help unfold their dreams. We examine the site in order to explore its possibilities. We discover design solutions that are in harmony with the client and the natural environment.” – Jack Thomas, President of JTA.

We do this by understanding the physics of building and applying our years of knowledge, experience, and passion for design.

Our “big picture” vision is balanced by an acute attention to detail; this focused and proven commitment to understanding the needs and desires of our clients is what forms the unyielding philosophy behind every Jack Thomas Associates project.

Our Office: The Red Barn

Our adapted office at the entrance to The Colony residential development (White Pine Canyon).

We believe that sustainability starts on your own home turf. Ours just happens to be an old barn.

We salvaged and lovingly restored this previously dilapidated structure, and adapted it for new use by utilizing recycled materials. By doing so, we not only saved this landmark historical building from falling into complete disrepair, but we created a beautiful office space conveniently located at the entrance to The Colony residential development at White Pine Canyon.

In the process, we were able to change the Summit County codes regarding adaptive re-use of agrarian structures.

We welcome you to stop by the Red Barn for a tour of our re-purposed office and to discuss creative ways we might add design innovations to your current or new space, or build your dream home. We enjoy meeting our community neighbors and any out-of-town visitors who might be considering calling Park City “home” - or second home!
